Bio

J.R. Earlbecke is the pen name of Colorado writer and artist Julie M. Rodriguez. Her writing generally focuses on issues of gender, race, and sexual identity, often exploring these concepts within the scope of the speculative genres. She is an entirely self-taught artist, evidenced by her distinctive style. Julie is co-owner of a small, writing-based business, Scribe Help. In the past, Julie has worked with learning-disabled children as a teacher's aide and volunteer. She has had several queer science fiction stories published in small press publications and in 2006 she co-edited the children's anthology Druidawn Volume II. In her free time (what little there is!) she writes for the feminist weblog Definition and runs the Feminist Writer LiveJournal community.
